Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is the eighth studio album by the Beatles. Released on 26 May 1967, it spent 27 weeks at number one on the Record Retailer chart in the UK and 15 weeks at number one on the Billboard Top LPs chart in the USA. It was the first album release following the Beatles decision at the end of August 1966 to permanently retire from touring. Pop artists Peter Blake and Jann Haworth designed the album cover. The front of the LP includes a colorful collage featuring the Beatles in costume as Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, standing with a group of life-sized cardboard cut-outs of famous people. Look closely at the Installed Mural on the left for a well-known local couple, inserted by one of the artists [1].
